    Hey Guys
    Updates for PR:
    Currently its summer so not much is going on and in a hope to keep the page, twitter and other social media fresh and keep the current audience and gain new followers we decided to start a variety of new pushes
    1. Accomplishments of the board , we want to show our audience that we support each other as a family and that Dhirana is more than just all about the competition
    2. Birthdays - continued sorry if we've missed anyone recently, also can we make a list for this or a fun fact type list, I could make one up if everyone could fill it out , simple questions like birthday, graduation date, favorite candy etc.
    3. I had an idea to do bi weekly or monthly either starting now in the summer or once school starts is Classical dance Facts , like fact Friday!
    4. start making connections with CMU, Duquense , Point Park and Carlow if at all possible to start promoting Dhirana once their school years restart as well
    5. Updated cover and profile pictures to start promoting Dhirana 2015

    That's it for now so far !
    and on behalf of Sonya and myself sorry for not sending in our schedules they will be in as soon as we finalize everything

    Hey everyone! The only new update is that the form for Chair birthdays, accomplishments, and other information has been created and sent out to all the E-Board and Board members.

    Hi guys,

    1.) I like Fun Fact Fridays!!!! We can start that starting first or second week of school. This could help Dhriana become more meaningful for the people that don't have much background in it.

    2.) When you talk to people on other campuses, encourage them to become liaisons for they school. The best thing to do is find someone who is social / had a little bit of a classical background so they are encouraged to actively PR on their campus. We have great potential on other campuses; especially where their is a theater program like CMU. We would get a lot of people to come from their.

    3.) Also, if you have birthdays or achievements that you guys post, could you email them to us at some point also so we can also include it in our newsletter.

    4.) Make sure you engage your ambassadors and assistant chairs! They are a great resource for ideas and also help. Use them to their fullest extent!! lol.

    Also, I think that we should do the Meet the board thing again. What do you guys think? If we were to do it again, we would need to start it this month so it's ready with the website at the beginning of the year. Then we will repost it on Facebook closer to the competition.

    We have been keeping up with the fb birthdays and accomplishments! I like the idea of the meet the board stuff if you guys want to send us your hopes for Dhirana and blurbs about yourself and a picture you would like (or we can just fb stalk you haha)

    in the past we usually just got the meet the board stuff done in the summer and held on to them till the website was done. i liked what we did last year with shivani pandit taking pictures of us and using those pictures rather than random ones from facebook.

    oh, and the actual process of the meet the board was:
    we emailed everyone on board and asked them for 3 people's emails that they would like to write their blurb for them.
    we contacted those three people and gave them examples and a deadline (i can give you the examples if you want)
    we picked the best one of the three (sometimes there's only one to pick anyway lol) and save that for the website. once the post goes up on the site we send the other two to the person.

    This sounds great. Let's try getting the meet the board done before the end of the summer. Make sure you keep the deadline a little before because not everyone will have it in time.

    - Josh Butler
    - Sriya Babu
    - Ameer Patel
    - Anand Mahalingam

    and we'll be using this facts and more to do a meet the board segment online nd possibly on the website n the fall

    1.Fact Friday can happen and i'm excited for it too and i agree it will make dhirana more meaningful and hopefully attract both the classical lovers and the newer audiences together in understanding the show

    Now that we will be back in school! Let's go heavy with the PR preparation. Let's get the meet the board and other stuff collected and together so we just have to PR as the year progresses. Also, the activities fair stuff is mostly planned out as you might have noticed but for the first informational meeting, you guys will be leading it to start off. We have a rough outline planned which we can talk to you guys about. You guys can be creative from there on.

    so classic friday will hopefully start this friday! if anyone has any facts or anything they want to share about classical dance please email us

    everyone has finally filled out the survey thank you and once Harshini edits the pictures they will be released on facebook with all that info and fun stuff

    Thank you everyone for coming again and participating in the pictures

    like and share the last status , tell yo friends people

    for the future using Harshini pictures we'll be doing board member spotlight adding some filters and a logo for later in the year or beginning of next year!

    if anyone has video submissions or events coming up let us know so we can get it up or schedule posts on the dhirana page for future events / anyone have any updates with life anything important to post?


    Anyone have connections with CMU , Duquense , point park ? we have some so give us yo assistant chairs and we'll make it

    Here are the updates we have for this week:

    1. We got the edited pictures back from Harshini so sometime next weekend, we are going to create the album with everyone's pictures and descriptions.

    2. We have yet to plan how we are going to PR the fundraiser this Friday but we will probably do that at the meeting tomorrow.

    3. We will probably be starting Classical Fridays on facebook this coming Friday.

    1. We posted the Meet the Board pictures on facebook today along with captions.

    2. We will be making an Instagram sometime this week, where we will put up some of the funnier pictures.

    Classical sunday has been going well. the event is this past friday was great. histogram, twitter and all other social media are updated and the chairs have a great idea for meet the board coming up toward the end of the year. birthday posts have also being gong out and things are going well!

    todays update:
    since teams have been chosen when they are confirmed we want to do a countdown to the line up video and make it a big release , blurbs also need to be finalized and emails will be sent out to writers soon. A liaison welcoming post will be posted soon since we just received the list and PR needs to go hard this month as far as flying and stuff is concerned so we need to talk with sponsorship and fundraising to start advertising at local businesses and getting things planned

    our update is blurb contacts are / should be in by now and we are thinking about extenuating the due date past thanksgiving so it gives us more time to process them but we also still need people to turn them in on time

    - Come up with plan to sell (if possible) tickets at CMU, or at least flyer and PR there
    - Talk to assistance chair at CMU - Susheel
    - 10 flyers in every Pitt building once Jan hits. NEED TO START PR-ING OUTSIDE OF ONLINE. Use assistant chairs
    - Pick dates to table in towers to table and sell tickets for dinner and show.
    - Collab with Josh and come up with PR video/flyer to put on union screen for Henna fundraiser, Dhirana dinner, and actual show
    - Use template Surbee and Anand used last year for people to email professors about selling show tickets (look it up from old emails...talk to us if you can’t find it)
    - Find ‘pitt news’, ‘pitt pulse’ contact information so we can get another ad or article in
    - Finalize designs (I love dhirana) with Josh so we can make those public after break
    - Come up with other ideas we can do (snapchat)
    - Keep updating facebook (mid week post) and end of week post
    - Come up with ideas about things you can post (holidays, super bowls, local sports teams)- coordinate with Josh to get Dhirana specific holiday posts rather than generic ones
    - Update twitter and instagram as well, make snapchat (multiple people cannot use it)

    sorry this is late I've been working all week!
    in response to your list and then what we've done:
    - we've made contact with our AC there and are working on getting this done as soon as school is back for them.
    - list and assignment already made and will be assigned before the first meeting of the semester
    -dates will be picked once we have materials available and the reservation system is open/available to do that
    - we are meeting soon to discuss and and work on all the PR designs with Josh. actually very soon. talked to him about it today
    -we did not find it. I tried tracking one down but had no success and we were gonna make our own but if you could help here that'd be great!
    - pitt news and pulse we have contacts for one and working on getting the other and will be trying for that... if it can be cost free!(fingers crossed)
    -as stated previously we are working with josh this break.
    - snapchat is already decided and will be released closer to the comp for a behind the scenes look. release pictures for other social media will be done. trying to also think of a creative ad for screens using dhirana team not just pictures and words
    - facebook(TU,TH,SU- have regular posts currently, with social and other events it will be more regular ( every other day or more)
    - done and they are generic now but we want to make them more personal from now on using board members. more details to follow.
    - are assistant chairs have been told and we gave them expectations lie puts the board pictures and classic sunday which should have been going on it before but we hadn't thought of that before.
    - snapchat will be made closer to the comp. approximately 3-4 weeks before to get a closer look at the prep work for the actual comp but it can be done earlier and the snapchat name can be given to the teams. and the login can be assed on from person to person. like example tweet watch the snap story at noon today from the lovely decorations chairs to see what dhirana 2015 has in store for you.
    - all posts but tuesday have been scheduled( sorry my work schedule is crazy since i'm new.) but finally join home for a little so i'll try to get them all and people still owe us pictures.

    E board,

    -we have finished scheduling all of the blurb posts except for Josh and Shruti M (need baby pics) and Sriya and Rushi (need red and white pics the week we get back)
    -all classical sundays and holiday posts scheduled
    -still waiting on info for the facebook events you told us about
    -still waiting on liaison picture info from Rikin
    -plan for flyering at pitt is confirmed and will be done the week we get back; will email our committee with details before first week to confirm flyering plan
    -discussed plan for flyering and tabling at CMU with Susheel; what we had planned before won't work due to their shows being scheduled later in the year than expected; new plan for flyering is decided and will be done the week they get back (one week after us); tabling most likely the week after that but I will wait for confirmation from you to confirm that with him
    -continuing to work on designs with Josh
